This year we will again be helping anybody who comes across an overcropped path, but really finds it a challenge to report Issues on the Essex Highways Fault Reporting site, aka Track It
So if you do a encounter an overcropped path, you can let us know by sending in details of the overcropped path to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
this path needs reporting ... it should be clear like this one!
- a photo (will really help)
- details of the location (a grid reference, Google pin, what3words, or the path number if you are able to identify it)
- some descriptive text - and we will submit the issue on your behalf.
For example:
1. Using your smartphone, take a photo of the blocked path.
2. When you look at the photo on your smartphone, you will see a 'share' icon:

iphone share icon Click on the icon and choose your email (eg Gmail, Hotmail etc).3. Then in the 'To' type in: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
4. In the 'Subject' field, type in a brief describe of the location, and if you know it, the path number.
5. Provide more details in the text area of the email.
6. Finally, press Send
7. One of our team will then upload your image together with your email address to the Essex Highways website. Essex Highways will email you to confirm your report. They should also contact you again when the matter has been resolved, so that you can be updated without needing to check again.
8. If its a 'repeat offence', we will escalate it to the Essex Highways Enforcement Officer (If you know of some Rights of Way you have walked in the past which have been overcropped, why not make a plan to walk them again in the next few weeks? and to see if the problem is there again?)
Our aim is to improve the walking environment by having unobstructed crossfield paths, so please give us a bit of your time and send us images of any overcropping you have found. We will be reporting on the results - thanks in advance for your support.
